BC RACING COILOVERS BMW 3 Series M3 E46 Yrs 98-04 3.2BC RACING COILOVERS TYPE RA TO FIT BMW E46 M3 3.2 YRS 98-04 For Street and Circuit Use Front : Pillowball Top Mount / Camber were available Rear : Rubber Top Mount or No Top Mount BR SERIES DESCRIPTION The BR series coilovers use a large 46mm diameter piston in a 53mm diameter damper body to maximise oil capacity. As the damper unit opearates the oil contained within heats up. The viscosity of oil changes as its temperature varies which can lead to changes in the damping characteristics of the unit. BC Racing only use a very high quality oil with their coilovers but go that extra mile to maximise performance and build their BR range with a large 53mm diameter damper body. This increases the capacity of the unit which increases the volume of oil contained which in turn reduces the peak temperature and so significantly improves damper performance. Springs are forged using the more reliable 'cold-drawn' method. Some competitors use the hot-forged method of manufacture, this has an adverse effect on the springs' tensile strength: i.e. consistent tension Following the forging process, a temperature controlled oil based treatment is applied to the spring to ensure that the required hardness and tension is reached, thus giving full operational effectiveness throughout the springs' entire lifecycle The steel is initially treated with Zinc-Phosphate, and finished in an Epoxy Resin to provide effective protection of the spring The shock absorbers contain both oil and gas. The gas serves to cool the oil to produce a more consistent operation...
